I love the look of these cards. The cards feel good in your hands but the shuffling is something to be desired. I play alot of TCGs, I just bought Dragonshield matte clear sleeves for these. I also cut up the box that the hero cards came in and pasted them to the Dragonshield box. I love how they work now.
Very high quality from the second I pulled them out of the box. I could feel the quality in my hand. They are printed in high detail and I love the drawings on them. Additionally I got a pen with my order that I did not anticipate! I was very happy to see and tempted me to buy the journal. I can't believe I didn't know about the journal before buying the decks!
Ordered this deck to start my new year of self-care so I wouldn't have to do all the thinking. This first card offered me hours of good fun and a way into an important feeling.
I got all 3 decks. I like the creativity one the best. I have 3 grown sons. They all live out of state so I've begun writing to them and including fun things like a couple of these cards, a feather I found, fall leaves, stickers, and such. Eventually each of my sons will have a full deck.
My wife struggles feeling overwhelmed. I bought this for her and she chose her first card today. We went and got this little plant and he made her very happy. Something simple, but sweet to give her.

Thank you so much for sharing this, Andrew! It’s heartwarming to hear how this simple SideQuest can bring a little bit of happiness to your world. Little moments like this are exactly why we made the SideQuest Decks. Email us with any ideas for future sideqests we could add to a deck. - Nick
So the first card I got was “Do a Load of Laundry”, and I kind of questioned my purchase. But we had gotten back from vacation a few days before and I had been putting off doing it. So I went to a laundromat and got it all caught up. And it was nice to have it out of the way. Up next, I selected “read or listen to a book for 15 minutes”. This is something I do daily, so I decided to do it on a hike and went to a park I hadn’t been to before. And this is why I got these. I have been struggling with motivation, in a definite rut the past few months. And when I feel that way, I’ll draw a card and try to get myself to take on whatever I find. Because sometimes we do need to be our own hero. And sometimes that just means facing whatever is coming at us.
As a family of 3 we are always looking for new things to try and explore. My 13 yr old tells me so often “I’m bored!” Well boredom no more! We’ve only done a few quests so far but it has become a family routine.
Adding an extra element we ask our Alexa to pick a # between 1 & 4 in order to give us a random pick from each type of quest in the deck. Family favorite seems to be the creative cards, as you can see from the recent drawings of our fictional characters.
Looking forward to more quests! It’s a hit for us 👍
To say I'm obsessed with this would be an understatement. I bought it as a birthday gift to myself and my whole family has gotten on board. My husband and child now excitedly wait for the weekend so we can pull side quest cards and accomplish them. My original goal was just to have them for when I need inspiration or motivation and now they've turned into so much more. I have already bought a different pack for my friend and I plan on buying more. I can't not recommend these enough.
This is the second deck I've purchased (Galaxy of Istoria was my first). These decks offer fun and engaging activities that anyone can accomplish simply and easily. They are like your favorite chips...you can't do just one! Highly recommended for those who have a few minutes to burn or just want experience a quick diversion.
We enjoy mixing the cards from the two side quest decks, and blindly pulling a quest! For my teens, it's great for boredom and most importantly, coping skills to fight depression and aid in their mental health! As a single Mom it's helped me be productive while simultaneously taking some time for myself depending on which card gets pulled. Can't recommend these enough. Well worth the money/investment. ❤️
I am so excited to have my side quest deck! I was so happy that the first card I blindly pulled was to “make something with your hands”! Gave me all the motivation I needed to crochet a project I had been procrastinating! Perfect for the fantasy loving nerds we all secretly are!
This seemed like a nice way to give myself things to do during the day. The cards feel like good quality stock, and I appreciate that it seems (I don't know myself for sure) that each side quest deck has different tasks based on the theme of the journal, which if so is great; they didn't have to do that but it's wonderful that they care enough about their products to really make them unique!
I find journals kinda scary. Nothing gets to me then looking at a blank piece of paper and trying to figure out where to start. I love that I have space to write a summary of my day and places for me to write what I have to do for the day since I’m a little forgetful. My planner tends to be something that I just use for school and only open for my assignments. I saw this on a YouTube channel while looking for information about a mental illness I was diagnosed with and thought that it was the perfect fit for me.
Customer service was lovely when I emailed them about my order. And bonus got to show it off to my therapist and he loved it because it was able to give him a snap shot of my days.
I've been using the Heroes journal for many years, since before I got divorced from my abusive ex-husband and I was looking for a new, stable place to live for my family and I. I used to use regular journals and forgot about them so fast because life was busy and I just didn't make time. But once I got my first heroes journal it was so fun that instead of yet another daunting task it became something I looked forward to. My first journal I used with the goal of getting out of abuse and into a safe place to live. I was given access to their Facebook page which has the most supportive and caring group of people I have ever met, and even the creators are active on that page. Once I was out of my situation, I made a post asking for help with figuring out what to do with the journal now that my big goal was met, and got plenty of suggestions as well as a brand new journal from a super kind woman in the group. I cried because of all the kind words and support I received in that group. And then, with the help of my second journal I made goals and plans and worked hard until I (a single mother of two) was able to get a condo for my kids and I to live a happy, stable life in. I made a second post with that, and even the creators of the journal celebrated my success and in the group with everyone else and thanked me for sharing my experience because it made them feel good to know their product was able to help people succeed.
One of the few things I struggled with with the journals, was the side quests. I didn't know what side quests to do every day and so often that was something I skipped or just wrote random odd quests down for in the journal. I bought the triple pack of the side quests recently, because even a year and three months after getting my condo I still use the journals for smaller goals and the side quest decks are amazing inspiration to help me fill in the section. I shuffle them, pull up to 6 random cards, pick my favorite three to put down in my journal and then go about my day and it helps me chunk away at overwhelming tasks and break them into smaller chunks that are easier to accomplish. The journals and decks are absolutely worth every penny, I recommend them to everyone I know often and will absolutely buy even more in the future as I fill my journals and move on with my life. I'm grateful to the creators of these journals and can't wait to see what other amazing products they come up with in the future.
I bought the sidequest deck after seeing it many times on social media. I love it! It's the perfect thing for when I just don't know what I want to do.
I have combined all three SideQuest decks to broaden my choice of quests. Today's Legends of Istoria quest said go to the farmers market, so that's what I did after work. Thanks for making all three decks available to heroes who need them!
The side quest deck really helps to add a little fun into our everyday lives. Even my kids like to pick cards! And the best part is you can reuse the deck over and over again!
I always know I should do more self-care, but I get overwhelmed trying to decide what to pick. This deck is the perfect solution to just pick a thing to do for me!
I love these cards! They’re thick and beautiful quality, aesthetically pleasing as well. I love the variety of daily prompts. There are household chores, creative ideas, and it gives you reasons to get out of the house. Very pleased with them!
I've been following the heroes journal on TikTok for a little while, and I recently bought the digital journal for the Academy. I absolutely love it so far and so I wanted to get the cards that matched.
I have mental illness and regularly feel the need to do “something” but I can’t figure out what “something” is… now I let the cards decide. The graphics are very cute and the live in a cup on my desk for anyone who wants a side quest
The side quests give me a little something to do in addition to the three main daily tasks.
I drew three, put them on my journal and when I complete 1 I will replace it with another.
I have a hard time getting started with anything and large unstructured blocks of time generally lead to doing very little. These cards help me get moving and stay moving! Love them!
I’m planning to use the Sidequest Deck to add excitement to my family’s day.
We have decided that whoever finishes the card first gets to pull the next one from the deck.
I absolutely love these cards. I’ve used them to inspire out of routine daily quests. With these bringing a perfect moment into each day inspired me to order my journal!
