[FAQ: The Hero Service Hub]

🦉 "The Hero's Planner" Kickstarter FAQs 🦉

1.) What is a Kickstarter?

Kickstarter.com is a platform where creators (like us) can launch crowdfunding campaigns to raise funds for their projects during the production process. Through Kickstarter, creators can reach a larger audience and receive support from people who are interested in bringing their project to life. It's how we brought the very first Hero's Journal to life in 2019, and how we were able to produce the Istoria Magic Academy storyline in 2021. Soon, we'll be publishing a new campaign on Kickstarter for The Hero's Planner with a particular funding goal, and related perks. From there, you (the hero's) can then pledge money on that campaign to secure your Hero's Planner and desired perks ahead of their planned release date in late 2023.

2.) When do I get charged after backing the Kickstarter?

Your chosen payment method will be charged immediately after the planner’s funding campaign ends, and only if the project has reached its funding goal.

3.) What if the Kickstarter campaign doesn’t reach its funding goal?

If the planner doesn't reach its funding goal, your chosen payment method will not be charged, and you will not be charged anything.

4.) When will I receive my Hero’s Planner and add-ons/stretch goal goodies?

While we can’t make any promises/guarantees due to unpredictable freight shipping around the holiday season, our goal is to get these planners and all associated add-ons/stretch goal items in your hands before the start of 2024.

5.) Regarding 'The Hero's Planner': Because not all months carry days in the same amount of weeks, what’s the actual structure of weeks to month pages?

Each month in the planner will contain 4 undated weekly spreads. For months that have 5 weeks, we have a 13th Otherworld in the planner for extra weekly spreads. The monthly spread is also undated, and has more than enough boxes to account for the 31 day months. For some free samples, follow the links at the bottom of our 'Road to Kickstarter' Newsletters.

6.) Help! I need to update my shipping address.

Keep your eyes peeled for an address verification survey that Kickstarter will be sending to you after the campaign ends. You’ll be able to update your shipping address there. If you miss the email, or are having trouble updating it via the provided form - send us a Hero Service inquiry by emailing Support@TheHerosJournal.co.

🛡 "The Hero's Guild" FAQs 🛡

1.) What is The Hero's Guild?

The Hero's Guild (www.TheHerosGuild.co) is a monthly subscription platform that gives heroes digital early access to Hero's Planner pages, exclusive Side Quests, and Hero's Journal discount codes every month.

2.) What's the differences between the "Side Quest Tier" ($3/mo), and the "Planner Tier" ($12/mo)?

In addition to a monthly $5 Gift Code, the Side Quest Tier subscription gives access to the "Guild Hall" - a new community group wherein heroes can chat with each other about their quests and take part in exclusive weekly Side Quests that are posted into the Guild Hall every Monday. On top of everything that's included in the Side Quest tier, Planner Tier subscribers will get a $15 monthly Gift Code, along with access to the "Planner Pages" section where they can download digital Hero's Planner spreads as they're released month-to-month.

3.) So what's The Hero's Planner? Is it a new Hero's Journal?

The Hero's Planner (AKA, "Project Gertrude") is a new product we've been working on that we're aiming to finish sometime in mid-2023. The Hero's Planner will be a year long planner with weekly spreads & monthly calendar pages, featuring a brand new multiverse inspired story. It's not intended to replace The Hero's Journal in any way, but rather can be an alternate option for heroes who prefer weekly planning over daily journaling. It can even serve as a companion to The Hero's Journal if you like daily journaling, but also want some longer form quest tracking.

4.) Are there any physical products included in The Hero's Guild subscriptions?

All products in The Hero's Guild are for digital early access only. On the 1st of every month we'll release PDFs for that month's planner pages, along with a monthly calendar teaser showing off what we're working on for the next month. Plan digitally with fillable form fields, or print the pages out yourself to start your own physical Hero's Planner journey. Side Quests can be completed each week along with the community in the Guild Hall.

5.) Can I use my monthly gift code on TheHerosGuild.co?

All monthly gift codes can currently only be redeemed for products on www.TheHerosJournal.co, and will expire at the end of every month (don't worry, we'll email you a new code as soon as any un-used code expire).

What are the differences between the Journals?

  1. Although the art inside of the journals tells different stories, the function of every Hero's Journal is the same, it was made to help heroes accomplish a quest and tell a positive story about their adventures.
  2. As for the art, The Hero’s Journal is currently available in two distinct story lines: Legend of Istoria & Istoria Magic Academy. What journal you should start with really depends on what kind of story you want to tell about yourself:
    1. The Legend of Istoria is a story that takes place in the High Fantasy Land of Istoria, the main character is asked to leave their home of Humble Hills to save the land from the mighty dragon Volgrimm the Red. Key story points: leaving your comfort zone, making allies along the way, and overcoming fear.
    2. The Istoria Magic Academy is a story that takes place at a wizard school. The main character is invited to study at the Istoria Magic Academy but during their studies an ancient force starts to run amuk and the main character with the help of their classmates must save the school. Key story points: learning from failure, trusting your allies, and finding creative solutions.

Are the colors different stories?

  1. Dragonfire Red, Wildwood Green, and the Adventurer’s Edition are all the Legend of Istoria Storyline.
  2. Mystic Blue, Cauldron Gray, and Potions Purple are all the Istoria Magic Academy Storyline.
    1. *Colorways for each storyline contain the same content
    2. *Storylines do not come in any particular order. Each journal can be used to begin your quest or used as a continuation of your quest.

What is the "Adventurer’s Edition"?

  1. The Adventurer’s Edition is the most premium version of the Hero’s Journal Legend of Istoria. It comes with 100% vegan leather as well as custom gold foiling on the spine of the journal.

Do I have to have a Hero's Journal to use a SideQuest Deck?

Nope! While a Hero’s Journal and Side Quest Deck from the same storyline (Legend of Istoria, Istoria Magic Academy, Galaxy of Istoria, ect.) will have similar artwork and theming, side quests can be completed separately or with a Hero’s Journal. How you quest is up to you!

We make products that are a love letter to different fandoms and story tropes, and we wanted the SideQuest Decks to be a love letter to their genres.

Whether you chose the Legend of Istoria, Galaxy of Istoria, or even the Istoria Magic Academy, they are all designed to help us capture our love for story and help us make meaningful change in our lives!

For "Legend of Istoria Fountain Pens":

The Legend of Istoria Fountain Pens do not come with Ink, and will need to be filled with Ink when it arrives. You can use any ink for your pen (we have heard that colored ink can leave residue inside the cartridge, but it still works.) We usually use this ink, but most will work!

For "Rollerball IMA Pens":

Pretty much any pen refill that's a 4.5 inch rollerball refill should work nicely! Many of the heroes in our community have been having some good success with "Uniball Signo 207" refills.
