This is a journal that I find keeps me engaged unlike a plain notebook. Coloring the pages elevates my mood and allows me to process my day and think about what I want to write down.
Jennifer M.
I started using this after slogging my way through a previous different journal. The storytelling aspect is great and I love getting to color in on the pages (btw I am using cheap Crayola markers and have no problem with bleeding or ghosting). Can't wait to face each day!

I love my Hero's Journal. I'm a Trekkie so it makes me incredibly happy to become the protagonist of my own little space adventure. I've tried all kinds of planners and apps to help me get organized and none of them have stuck. I've been incredibly consistent with my HJ so far though, so I think this might be THE tool for me. Maybe it's because I'm a designer/author and the whole concept is the perfect fit. Things I love about my Hero's Journal? Everything. The quality is amazing, definitely very well made with nice paper and fabulous details like the ribbon marker and elastic band to keep it closed. The illustrations are delightful. I haven't had time to do any coloring, but I enjoy seeing the progression of the story from one page to the next. I love that the planning aspects are simple. I don't need my day planner to feel like work or be distracting. There's just enough to help with my daily mindset (like the space to write down today's allies and things I'm grateful for) and I especially like writing down my "threats"...because then I actually avoid them (social media for example) when I frame it as threatening. I like being able to just write down things I'd like to get done and then do my best to cross out as many as possible. I think the ONLY thing this is missing is 3 undated calendar spreads in the back of the book. That would give me a space to jot down upcoming appointments or important dates. I'd also include a couple long-term planning pages to jot down future dates that fall outside the 3-months so that you can easily transfer them to the next HJ. Right now, I'm using the notes pages in the back to do this, and it works just fine. Overall, I'm EXTREMELY happy with my Hero's Journal!

I love this journal it is a wonderful mindfulness experience to keep you grounded throughout the day. The new artwork every page makes me excited to use it and color in a new scene everyday. I have recommended it to so many friends that are struggling to get their tasks done.

So, I actually got the Magic Academy journal for my birthday from one of my boyfriends. I just finished chapter one and have done so much towards making the life I crave. I have actually lost weight, went after a job I wanted, and am transforming physically, mentally, and fiscally into the Witch I wanna be.
So, I bought the Solar Flare Galaxy journal for one boyfriend and the Adventurer's one for the other boyfriend as V-day gifts. We plan on doing lookbacks together over time. :)
Sarah Y.
I like the concept of tracking boons and obstacles, but I wish there were more room on the daily spreads for recording notes. The artwork is nice, but I like to add my own, and I wish the dailies took up less space with pre-printed illustrations.
The design is fine, except for the blank areas for adding notes are next to the spine, and it constricts my ability to angle a pen to write neatly over the bump.
I will purchase this again, but I hope the layout is redesigned to make it easier to fill in with handwriting.

So far I like everything that’s inside of the journal. It’s makes journaling fun and exciting. There’s no pressure if you miss a day.

This is my 4th completed hero’s journal and the 1st in this storyline. The hero’s journal has kept me consistent and I have been able to look back and really see how far I’ve come. The first journal I kept logged the start of my learning real estate while this journal logged the blasting off of my journey into becoming a real estate agent, from finishing the classes, taking the final exams and being hired by a broker. There is something about the storylines that seem to follow your own ups and downs, victories and struggles as you tackle a quest or journey. I am so excited to start my next journal tomorrow!

Prior to coming across The Hero’s Journal, keeping track of all my goals and aspirations was a sort of haphazard mélange of Google reminders, white board scrawlings, and just plain, off the top of my head trying to remember things. Not terribly organized, and it showed! I frequently forgot a thing or two and didn’t get to everything as comprehensively as past me (who ritually established such tasks and obligations) intended.
Honestly- I came by Hero’s Journal in an ad amid I wanna say my Google newsfeed. I’m not sure if it was an article ad, or an ad-ad. In any event, I usually completely disregard such things as contemporary web detritus. But the conceptual pitch and the spirit of the product as a writer and (when I’m doing better at life) organization aficionado caught my eye! It piqued my intrigue, so I scoped it out and the more I learned about it, from the product website to the YouTube channel- I was just sold on it.
It wasn’t an immediate decision to buy it, because as is the situation for so many people these days, money can often be a bit tight. But for what you receive, it seemed like a good deal. And when I noticed it was a modest upstart by some fellow nerdy folks like many friends I’ve had in my time, I ultimately caved and ordered one (in addition to a digital copy). I didn’t even look at the digital copy till the analog one arrived, because I didn’t wanna spoil the fun!
I’m just a day or two into using the physical copy of the journal I received, but I couldn’t be happier with it! I usually keep myself in pretty good (physical) health and shape, and a big part of my initiative with it is to restructure how I’m approaching re-attaining that status that I’ve lost over the last year and change due to stressors and anxiety. That, and with finally being back in college after some time- it’s a HUGE help to organizing my thoughts and objectives for each day that gives an incredibly solid framework for organizing things and keeping a creative and healthy mindset in undertaking all of them. It’s immaculately put together (as I’m noticing it helps me to be)!
The price isn’t pocket change, but what you get for what you pay is- wow!! Like, just really fantastic, quality material that looks and feels, and even smells (who doesn’t love a good, new book?) phenomenal to engage! It comes in this amazing package covered in inspiring and nostalgic art to appease even the most cynical of geeks or nerds. And the pages are littered with a variety of input framework and poppy artwork that… like reading, following along, and filling this thing out almost feels like playing a good videogame or tabletop RP game. It might seem a bit premature, but I’m already looking forward to possessing a memorable record of my exploits and endeavors in more copies/versions of this journal!
It's absolutely gorgeous, high-quality material- and you can just tell, every facet of it drips with genuine enthusiasm and passion from its creators. Real top-notch stuff! Unlike any other journal I’ve ever seen or had. And I’ve had several over the years that either lost my interest, or were supplanted by other, more convenient options. This journal is endearing as heck! I’m looking forward to finishing it and seeing how my aspirations pan out along the way. This concept for such a tool makes it a really fascinating method of undertaking such things. Seriously- if you’re on the fence, you should at a minimum give it a try!

I so enjoy my current Galaxy of Istoria journal that I took advantage of the holiday sale to order more.

i planed to use my hero planner to keep me on track maybe motivate me to try new things.

I have found that the last few years and the difficulties of my job has made me jaded. So I have found great solace in coloring a bit and setting a goal simply to embrace joy in my life! Thank you!
Kathleen C.
I’m a gamer from way back, so right away that concept drew me in! I love journals but often time have a difficult time keeping up on it. This makes it so easy, fun, and I’m never feeling daunted staring at a blank page. I will definitely continue purchasing these products and using them regularly
Gregory B.
I've had this on my to get list for a long time and I plan to use it though the year and maybe the next one.
Victor D.
I have a very large collection of journals to the point that I probably have a problem and this is by far my favorite one!! The artwork is amazing and it is so much fun to color in! The format and idea of this journal overall is just great and I think I’m actually going to get a lot done by writing in this journal. Also for a journal that is this high quality and filled with artwork I think that the price is honestly really good as well.
Melissa W.
I have been looking for something to help me get my act together in 2023. I am so glad I finally succumbed to the Facebook ads and purchased this journal!
Samantha B.
I received my journal yesterday and am blown away by the quality. I bought this due to an instagram ad and it has been well worth the money. The artwork is top notch and the the layout of each page is helpful for goal tracking and daily planning. The journal is going to help me maintain my motivated mindset and hold myself accountable for my own destiny. I can't wait to fill these pages!
Cayla W.
I love the journal! It's so high quality and I absolutely love it's contents. I'm already considering getting another journal!
Kristyne H.
I purchased my hero’s journal to not only motivate me but to journal the process of completing my dissertation for my PhD. It’s not only a wonderful way to stay on track, but to jot ideas (mine lives near my bed) and de-stress by coloring!
Oscar P.
Couldn’t have asked for a more wonderful journal/planner. 10/10
Meredith B.
I have been a huge fan of the Hero's Journal ever since I bought my very first older version of LOI about a year ago. Since then I've finished an IMA, have several ongoing quests in various LOI and GOI journals and love everyone of them. This one is no exception. Despite me not being drawn to the color initially, I loved the box and bookmark so much I bought it and it is now one of my very favorite journals. The quality of these journals can't be beat and it is set up in such a way that journaling is a joy rather than feeling like a chore. A wonderful company with journals that make lives a little easier/more fun.
Sara R.
Fun way to organize thoughts if you game

My friend who enjoys space theme stories will enjoy this for Christmas.

The stars at your fingertips and the journey begins. Just remember its dangerous business going out your door!

I love The Hero Journal! This is my second one! I like that there are different themes to keep things exciting, and different tools and tactics to keep you on track for journaling and goal keeping. They're great!
s J.
This is my second journal. I used the legend of Istoria previously as a PDF that I accessed on my iPad so this was my first physical one and the quality is great. As a therapist, I recommend these journals to clients since they make self care a fun activity and the fact that they are not dated allows for some flexibility if you forget for a little while and decide to start back up. This journal really make setting both short and long term goals more fun and manageable.
Kallie R.
Let me start by saying I absolutely love this journal/planner. It's absolutely gorgeous (even the packaging is beautiful). I got the cosmic rose, and the color is vibrant and amazing. I love the coloring pages, which make each planner unique and fun. I love the space for notes and goal planning. The quotes are also so cool. I flipped through and saw quotes from some of my favorite fandoms (looking at you Mass Effect and X Files). My only suggested improvement would be a pen holder and some monthly calendar sheets. I use mine more as a planner so I can keep myself organized, so monthly calendar sheets would be useful. But other than that, I love it so much and will definitely purchase more in the future. These would also be a great gift idea!
Nina J.
I was using a Daily Plan sheet and a This Week sheet before getting The Hero's Journal. Both were adequately helping me to keep track if tasks and appointments, but neither really helped me track a GOAL.
The Hero's Journal is much better at helping me keep my goal (selling my jewelry thry my own business) front and (just right of) center. I LOVE the fact that I have prompts and quotes and pictures to help me write as I am NOT a journal person by nature. Also love the emails from The Mentor.
I am only 10 days into my journey and I am looking forward to using my Hero's Journal every day (except Sundays, those are my free days).
Thank you for starting this!
Gillian D.
This is my seventh journal and second Galaxy of Istoria journal. I can’t say enough good things about these. They’re very sturdy, you can take them anywhere. The fact that there’s been so much thought put into the design and illustrations makes it worth repeat purchases. I definitely plan on buying more in the future!
Clare W.
I've really enjoyed this planner. It's fun and engaging and it reminds me that I'm making real progress with my goal (become financially independent from my family and buy a home), something a simple calendar planner can't do. I'm an ADHDer and I live and die by planners. I can't function without them. I used a traditional calendar-style planner in school and it worked great, but after I graduated and started working, I didn't have homework... So I didn't have a reason to look my planner every day... So I forgot appointments and which days I was scheduled to work and due dates for bills. I needed a planner that gave me a reason to open it more often, and after 8 months, I'm still using it multiple times per week! I chose the PDF because at the time I couldn't afford the book, and I keep it in a nice faux leather binder. I started coloring the pages when I was having a stressful couple of months at work, and I started noticing quirky details in the illustrations that I wouldn't have seen if I wasn't coloring them in. I like to use one page per week instead of one page per day. One thing you should know is that this planner doesn't have any calendar pages, so you will need something else to keep track of your schedule. You could use anything from a wall calendar to a traditional planner to blank monthly printouts. I made a very basic BuJo with calendar pages. Every Sunday, I get out my BuJo to check for appointments and events in the coming week, then I fill out my journal page. It would be nice to get printable, illustrated, undated calendar pages with the journal purchase; I hope it's a project they tackle in future. Overall, I love THJ; I've bought copies as gifts; and I recommend it for anyone looking for a semi-structured, productivity-/goals-oriented planner.

Since I write every day in my journal and we were approaching the end of the quarter I was really excited to start a new Galaxy of Istoria journal on October 1st. After rolling four-sided dice I went with Cosmic Rose to wrap up 2022.
Laurie K.
I absolutely love this journal. Excellent quality throughout from the binding to the pages.
Daniela I.
I truly enjoy the simplicity. It is my third. Just perfect.
Rita D.
These journals have changed how I handle self-care, I am more organized, and more mindful of my own physical and mental health and I hope these journals will always be available.
Melanie M.
Wow, the Hero Journal Team has absolutely outdone themselves. The Journal is incredible and the Merch is absolutely stunning. The Quality is topnotch. I love my GOI Bag so much, and the little Plushie is the perfect size and super adorable. It is coming to work with me in my pocket every day. This set is absolute amazing and I can't wait to see, how the next set will turn out. I love you guys for this Journal, it is helping me getting my Life in order and battleing my Anxiety. Since I am writing down what I want to achieve in a day and what is keeping me from doing so and what is encouraging me, I feel much more capable to do normal tasks without being anxious, like collecting Mail from the post office. Yes, even that is difficult for me. Thank you so much for the Journals and the Mentor Emails. I love them so much.
Dave M.
I have used the hero’s journal in the past and really enjoyed it, I have a deep love for journaling but I’m not very good at it especially if it’s just a book with empty pages having prompts and questions and planning helps me tremendously, this time around I also picked up a side quest deck and it’s fun and I look forward to randomly picking a card I might add a d-20 to make it more interesting
Ashley C.
Before switching to the hero’s journal I would write to do lists or start monthly planners. This never worked well because I would lose the lists and interest in the planners dwindled. I came across the company through a Facebook ad and fell in love with the idea of turning my goals into an RPG quest. I love everything fantasy as well as coloring to relieve stress and the fact that it’s undated allows me to pick it up wherever I left off, even when I need a break or life throws a curveball. I am looking forward to the new story line but have tried the other two and my favorite has to be LOI, especially since dragon are my favorite fantasy creature
Rita D.
I started buying the journals at the end of 2020 and have never bought any other journal. Since I write in the hero’s journal daily I’ve already gone through almost 7 of them. And now I can’t wait to start writing in the Galaxy of Istoria journal.
Timothy B.
My daughter already stole the deep space journal. She's using it for her 1st semester of college. She's actually taking astronomy this year so it fits.
My main goal is to be a motion graphics animator. I phrase my quest as trying to become a Visual Bard. Looking forward to the space journal.
Jennifer I.
I haven't started journaling with it yet but I'm in love with the presentation of everything.
Jennifer S.
I have never used more than 5 pages in a journal or planner. When Jessica McCabe of How to ADHD mentioned the Heroes Journal, I gave it a try and boy am I ever glad I did. I've used 2 journals so far and I love the benefits it has brought to my life. It is therapy and self care and helps me stay on track. It's a great brain dump and fun to use. I've recommended it to nearly everyone I know. The best part is applying the Hero's Journey monomyth cycles to my quest. Each chapter provides insight into how I want to progress my goals and the shadows I need to face within myself. I just recieved the Istorianaut bundle and it's beautiful. I appreciate the high quality that you've put into every item. I'd love a vinyl sticker if you choose to make them. Am I gushing? I feel like I'm gushing. Thank you.
Marion G.
Love love love My Hero's Journals!
It helps me a lot and I used it once with my 6-year old nephew. Our threat was the sticky screen monster and our ally a time-timer and let me tell you it worked like a charm when we usually struggle to take him off (bad habits were taken).
Only issue I have is the GOI pdf is misaligned and I can't use it properly, which is not the case with my adventurer edition!
ERIN P.
I've been using the Hero's Journal on and off for a couple of years now. It has everything my ADHD brain needs for emotional health: daily gratitude journaling, connecting to my quest every day, and picking the three most important things to work on each day. It also reminds me to watch out for baddies and recruit my allies. Finally, it has a page-a-day layout (which I need for lots of notes!) and a different adventure every day that I can doodle or colour on.
Laura J.
I love these journals and the new companion journals with GoI, especially the new colours. The digital versions are also great; I love using the pages in my various GoodNotes journals. I miss the stickers though; I wish there had been physical stickers with the journals and digital stickers with the PDFs. The quality is always fantastic, but it is the designs and layout that really convinced me to buy them. These are such unique planners and the additional tools (Side Quest Decks, Companion Journals, PDFs) really help me accomplish my goals and stick to journaling, while having fun!
Meredith B.
I have been a strong supporter of the Hero's Journal ever since I first saw an earlier addition of LOI and now have an IMA, 3 GOI, and 5 LOI journals. This is an amazing company and I encourage anyone who hasn't picked up a Hero's Journal to pick one up. If you do, I can almost guarantee it will not be your last! This latest version, Galaxy of Istoria, is fantastic in every way and as a hard-core LOI enthusiast, GOI did not disappoint. I like to have multiple quests (in multiple journals) going at the same time since they are so distinct and I can't wait to start my first GOI quest. Apparently my cat Yoda feels the same way!
Chris J.
The packaging and quality of my bundle blew my mind in a good way as expected with my other purchases with the hero’s journal in my quest to find a journal that can handle thick pen fountain and gel pen ink ✍️ . The companion journals feel nice and top quality. I really loved the space themed side quest deck, I loved the quotes especially. It was tough to read some of the longer quotes on the cards but it was still legible overall. I am really stoked when this came in the mail
Julie D.
This Journal is an inspirational tool it has got me through a really hard time in my life. I am on Day 76... I have never been able to keep with a journal. But with this one I look forward to every entry. I was diagnosed with ALS and I dont believe I have it And everyday I get stronger, it proves I have something ailment. This journal helps me fight, and to have beaten my original diagnosis. I am on my quest to do so.
Jacson S.
This journal truly changed my life. I am a massive fan of fandoms. Star Wars is my most important and favorite (hence the Galaxy of Istoria journal), but Avatar, Harry Potter, and any other story I can get my hands on I latch onto. Stories play a massive role in my life.
In 2020, my mental health plummeted. In addition, I discovered that I have ADHD, which helped me realize that normal productivity journals, as well as the culture of toxic productivity, not only did not work for me but also made me feel terrible when I couldn't be productive.
This journal literally saved my life. It just clicks. I got one in early 2021 and it pulled me out of the darkest part of my life. Life and tasks and to-do lists didn't feel unmanageable. I get to tell a real, true story about myself as a hero. And as someone who longs for that, it scratches the right itch. This journal is magnificent. It helps make my life more fun, and meaningful, and genuinely helps me conquer tasks. On top of that, the quality of the journal, the artwork, and the pages are top-notch. The care and thought that went into this product are outstanding. I could not recommend this product enough. I will be a forever customer, buying a new one as the old one gets filled up. I am already on my 3rd journal!
This journal is so worth it. Do yourself a favor and set out on a quest.
Lydia K.
I love the fact that the journal lets me be both broad and specific in my goals for the day. Having to sit down and think about what I'm grateful for each day is putting things in perspective for me. Undated pages, and an area for me to journal or doodle is amazing.
Olivia M.
Love the digital, can't wait to fill the physical out. It feels great in my hands. The cover is super soft, the binding is sturdy. It's a real pleasure to hold it. It's special and makes me feel pretty special too to be able to write in it!
Jessica V.
I bought a journal awhile ago for my son. He immediately fell in love with it and has been obsessed ever since! This was a birthday gift for him (turning 19) and he was SO excited when he opened it. I have seen many positive changes in him since he started the Heroes Journal. Thank you for making such an amazing product!
Jazzmyn M.
Love this planner! I’ve started using it as a yearly with each day being a week instead of 1 day. I had been working out wonderfully and it’s just so fun.
The customer service is BAR NONE! And the world building and story design is just so fun!
Leslie G.
I'm half way through my second journal. I did Magic Academy first and it helped me complete a major performance piece I'd been working on. It was a HUGE support for my creative process - the journal helped me stay organized and on top of project steps, and it was FUN which absolutely helped me tap into my creative brain. I am now working through Legend as I work on expanding my piece after a successful performance. I have Galaxy queued up for my next adventure and I get excited thinking about what that might be and knowing I have a fun new journal to carry me on! I've recommended The Hero's Journal to all my friends and several now have journals and Side Quest Decks. I am so impressed by the thought and care that went into each journal story, companion journal, and Side Quest Deck. These are beautiful products on all levels and I recommend the whole lot! Thanks Hero's Journal Team for the joy and drive you've added to my creative ventures!
Ashley D.
Since you've had a few days to try out the product, I'd love to get your initial thoughts:
1) What were you using to plan and track your goals prior to The Hero's Journal?
I am using my journal to plan and track my daily tasks and, more specifically, my quest to get back into competition shape! I set goals for my health and fitness, track my health habits and gym activities, and manage my schedule in my hero journal!
2) What made you willing to try us out?
I like the focus of the setup- just 3 things I can do each day to achieve my goals as compared to a long list, space to track what helps and hurts my progress each day, a gratitude practice to set my mind in a positive intention each morning... it is perfect! Other planners have overwhelmed me because they have such long to-do lists and agendas.
3) Have you enjoyed your experience with us?
Yes! Customer service is responsive and does a great job fixing problems, even if they aren't the HJ's fault! The products are high quality and look awesome, and the interaction on social media is fantastic!
Krystal K.
I've been using hero's journals for over 1 year now. I don't think I'll ever stop using them. They are how I start my day every morning and how I finish my day!
Deanna S.
Just when I think that there cannot be any more journals created, these guys come up with another story quest. I have finished 8 quests already and I'm not nearly finished creating more. I love the covers, the format, the pictures, and the coloring opportunities. I have found identifying the allies and the threats most enlightening. Thankfully there is extra room for writing as many times my gratitudes overflow the space available for them. I've struggled to continue a journaling practice in the past, but no more as I look forward to doing it everyday with the Hero's Journal. Just one request: release that rose colored one as a single journal, please!
Mike S.
I am a huge fan of the hero’s journal and I’ve been using it for a couple years now. I always get excited when they launch a new story line and I can’t wait for the next one!!
Shankar Nakai G.
There is nothing more exciting to live the story where I'm the hero, specially a futuristic one like Galaxy of Istoria.
Rae P.
I absolutely love my Hero's Journal! It helps me organize my scattered thoughts and to be more intentional about every day. Planning the next day has become a cherished activity in the evenings, and I feel better-equipped to handle difficult days thanks to advanced consideration of what's coming up!
Michael P.
Love the new Deep Space Galaxy journal! The art and quality are top notch. Also really like the companion journals for notes, sketches and other stuff.
The only thing that keeps this from being a mind glowingly great product is I wish it was a little more distinguished from the Legends of Istoria journal in ways other than just the art. LOI was very quest focused about acheiving a specific goal with a clear victory in mind. The Istoria magic Academy was pretty unique and felt geared towards students and people on a “self improvement” quest.
Maybe if Galaxy of Istoria was more exploration focused with no fixed end, just boundless space and all you can do is explore as much of it as you can before having to return for refueling and then setting out again.
Carolyn M.
I love using the original journal to pursue my plans for a fulfilling retirement! That quest will enter a new phase soon, so I am going to space with my next journal! No pictures of that yet since I can't open it until my birthday. Just another layer of motivation in my quest for a happy healthy retirement!
