I have been loving the Legend of Istoria journal so I decided to give this a try. I am really excited and so far it looks just as amazing as the other storyline This has been the only journal system I have been able to stick to and not feel guilty or behind when I don’t use it. It’s been a great help to my mental and physical health. Next stop is the Galaxy journal
Amo que a cada dia muda o desenho!
Bought the magic academy pdf for my son who is 13 and has trouble putting pen to paper. I hole punched and inserted into a 3 ring binder. Despite this being advertised as a person every day journal, my son is using it for creative writing and he’s made up a character who is living an exciting life going to a magic academy. He went from not writing at all to spending 20+ minutes nightly. I hope down the line they create some journals with that idea in mind, making it essentially guided creative writing. Because that’s what my son is doing and it’s great.
A great way to stay motivated and recognize the small victories in every quest. I only need to spend about 20 minutes a day to summarize my day and set my 3 basic goals for the next day. The daily reminder of my ultimate quest and the ability to look back at the threats and allies to that goal, help to make specific adjustments for success.
I love this journal i got the digital one and i just print it off and put in a folder, it’s the only journal i keep coming back to all the rest i just gave up and end up never sticking to what i planned, i will definitely be buying more when they come out
I live in Canada and our dollar is low compared to the US so shipping of the book was a little high for my budget (this is NOT the fault of Hero’s Journal creators or publishers; shipping with COVID is ridiculous). I ordered the digital bundle for this reason. I think eventually I would like a paper copy of this journal, but so far I’m so pleased with everything about my journal! I use it in goodnotes on my iPad. I’m in grad school and work digitally in goodnotes 5 almost all the time. You can use the highlighter function to colour the pictures, which I find cathartic while I think about what I’d like to write. I like the option of being able to erase, although frixtion pens are amazing if you journal on paper. (They are coloured and erasable!… not sponsored haha) With the PDF format you do have the option to print it all out, maybe find a fancy binder (or learn book binding and make your own cover!) if you’d like an analog version. This journal is so fun, beautifully illustrated, and an ingenious gamification-type take on regular journaling. I will be buying other versions in the future!
The daily forms are not overwhelming like in some other planners I could mention that ask you SO MANY questions every day and expect you to have certain elements to your routine. This journal is delightfully nonspecific and I think 3 is the perfect number of “main tasks.” I really like it so far. I do wish there were more free space for writing stuff in and recording smaller tasks for a “done list”… maybe a tiny bit less illustration. Or maybe just one fewer line in each of the “Allies/threats/gratitude” areas. The illustration can also be kinda busy, making the page a lot to look at. But I would not entirely dump the illustration. I did not think I would use the time block area because all my appointments are in Outlook, but it can be helpful to write them in there anyway in the morning to sort of solidify the coming day in my mind. The journal also needs more big blank pages for brain dumps and for running lists that don’t become tasks, like “this would be cool to do someday” lists. You could make a sheaf of pages at the back that look like scrolls with a place at the top to write in a title, it’d be cute.
I bought the pdf because I have commitment issues, but I am gob smacked and am ordering a hard cover too!
one of my new favorite journals and will definitely be using it for the new year
This journal is really lovely, the introduction is really well written and impressed my counselor when I read it to her. I have a hard time writing in a traditional journal because I am more of a visual artist and this journal is perfect for me. It’s really calming to color in my little character and see what she is doing in the scene each day. There are subtle differences in the artwork on each page and it is fun to see what is going on with each little character. The content spaces are great for me, a place to be great full, a place to think about my goals and a space to put whatever I want. I’m really loving this and I want to commend the creators on a wonderful product.
I'd suggest (to myself) to use this PDF journal on a tablet or a PC instead of on a phone. Other than that small inconvenience, the quest journal is great! I love that there's no pressure to use it daily and no awkward skipping of blank pages. The allies feature and the gratitude feature keep me grounded as well. Quests are my favorite game feature, so gamifying life goals is perfect for me.
I am really thankful that you have made two options for purchasing your book. I wanted to buy a hardcopy, but there is no shipment option to my country. In general, I fell in love as soon as I saw an advertisement in one of the videos of Nerdecrafter Jacky. Actually, it was the first time when I saw an ad and thought to myself "I really want this". Since I work as a psychologist, I tried to use many of the techniques for self-esteem and anxiety that you use in your book. The difference is - you've made it into an organised and beautiful challenge that one really wants to take on - a true adventure! I haven't started it yet, since I want to keep it until New Year, therefore, I tried not to look inside too much (and failed miserably). I am thankful for the work you put into your product. It's not only a brilliantly structured psychological help, but also a true piece of art. Warmest greetings from your fellow Ukrainian customer!
Today I had reached the 2nd Reflection and I'm actually really glad I started this journal, the only sad thing was that the original journal is not shipped to my country so I purchased this version and I'm printing it down. Anyway I really enjoy since it leaves place for creativity and self exploration. Thank you
The PDF saved me from the sadness of missing the Kickstarter (shipping fees sadly). I have printed and bound a copy ready to tackle what remains of my PhD after returning from maternity leave. The theme resonates well as I practice science in a university setting. Let the magic begin!
Though I haven't been able to truly start writing on it, the journal is precious. The storyline makes me imagined a fantasy book, which is something that I enjoyed in the past. The staff is very friendly. A recommended purchase (if you have some funds to spare since currency exchanges rate and other currency related matters can be a hurdle). This version is truly recommended for those who wanted to feel like you are in a Magic Academy akin to Hogwarts. Maybe even writing using a feathered pen/quill? (^w^)
I bought the PDF version for my Remarkable tablet, works perfectly and it's soooo nice to fill! <3
These journals are great! Thank you for making them
I printed out my journal, and have spent everyday calming my mind by colouring the whimsical pictures. It's helped me more than just the quests itself, as it's part of calming my mind and focusing on the process. I've just hit the first reflection, and I was surprised to realize just how well it's working to keep me on track. I'm excited to fill it out everyday, and further my journey. I feel like the process is helping give me purpose, in an otherwise dreadfully difficult time. This is the first semi-guided journal that has actually proven to help me in furthering my health. I cannot recommend this journal enough, it's truly changing my life.
absolutely obsessed. this has given me a completely new approach to keeping myself organized, and it fits perfectly with Habitica, which I use for tasks/habits (check it out). also, coloring.
