This journal is super cute and I’m really impressed by the quality. You can tell they really care about this product. I’m starting the whole bundle of journals with my friend, and we’re going to keep each other accountable. I’m very excited. I’ve also really enjoyed making this my own by adding little touches to the coloring pages.
With ADHD, I've never been able to journal more than a month (inconsistently)... I've got so MANY half finished journals that I just use them as sketchbooks instead. Until the Hero Journals! The storyline of Istoria Magic Academy is comforting, encouraging & charming with applications that you can work through in your own adventure. If you're on the fence, just try it. I'm loving it.
Just from opening the box and seeing how cool the product looks got me excited to use this. This is my second journal, and I’m excited to utilize this more and live more in the space. As someone who’s just now getting into their own business venture, I find this even more imperative, especially after traveling the first journal.
I’m really excited to start using the The Hero’s Journal and see where it takes me. I love the idea of using it for solo journaling, creativity, reflection, and maybe even building new habits along the way. I’m still exploring everything I can do with it, but Im excited to turn everyday moments into my own little adventure story.
I love these card decks. After having the original deck for myself for several years, I am I am using these additional decks with my children this summer. It helps to create an easy, stress-free way to introduce them to new chores, mindfulness, and creativity.
I've only been using the journal for a couple days, and so far, I love it! You obviously don't have to color it, but I feel like that gives my brain time to think about what my intentions are. The creators clearly put a lot of thought into the journal, and I'm excited to share with friends/family that want to build habits with a creative approach.
My year of journals has arrived. Customer service helped me get my order after it wasn't forwarded to my new address by the post office. I love these journals. They are great for keeping me on track (and forgiving when I forget a day here and there). I got the vegan leather editions and love them! Excited to revisit previous quest journals and experience the new art in Way of Istoria! Love the colored end page art!
I bought the bundle of 4 as a college graduation gift to myself. I just started and I can already feel it giving my new chapter in life some type of goal!
I love it! I had printed off a chapter to try at home and it doesn’t compare to the high quality pages. My only suggestion is making a future edition alcohol marker friendly.
I really like the journal - I’m 3 pages in already in the daily section! The coloring is soothing and helps with my adhd. I’ve actually gotten some stuff accomplished using the journal the past couple days.. .. .. it’s very useful and encouraging!

I bought the Mystic Blue for my first time journaling and absolutely loved the experience, I bought the Potions Purple on for my next adventure. I absolutely loved this idea of quest journaling and just had to try! Now that I’ve received my journals, I’m so happy I did! I do love writing in a regular notebook but this is another way to help achieve your goals and have fun while doing it!
I would never get my writing projects done without hero journal! They are the best way to budget my time and track my progress. The reflection of looking back on what I’ve accomplished really helps me steam forward.
The quality of this journal is insane. I know it seems expensive, but I think it's worth every penny! The details and thoughtfulness that went into making Istoria are evident on every page. I keep discovering fun new things! I'd hate to say more and ruin the journey for someone else, but I will hint to pay close attention to EVERY illustration. You can see the love! I can't get enough. This may just be the thing I need to actually journal every day!
Wow! Just wow! This journal exceeded my expectations and im so excited to start my journey with it! I have NEVER in my life have stuck with a journal and I feel like for the first time I will actually use it every day! I got this journal because im going back to school and im sooo nervous about it. I havent been back to school in over 10 years! This journal already started asking the questions that I knew I needed to answer in order to really hold myself accountable and challenge my fears. Very excited and so happy to have this as my companion.
Arrived quickly and is beautiful! Using it to work my first 3 months of sobriety and it seems perfect for that purpose.
The first few pages were a surprisingly emotional and spiritual experience for me! To commit to something I have wanted to make progress on for a long time and to have an accessible way to help me do it… It is part of my daily routine now and really helps me focus on my priorities for the day. I got these journals for my sister and I. This is my second time using one, and am thrilled to be diving back in. Not only did they arrive fast, but in epic boxes, which great guides to get you started, and a layout that makes it easy to keep to it without feeling guilty if you miss a day. 5/5 stars!
I've been using The Hero's Planner for two years, including this one, and it is the only planner that has allowed me to have consistency in planning and time management at all. The way it immerses you into different universes and makes it a fun, interactive experience really keeps me engaged and wanting to dive into it everyday.
I am blown away how stunning this journal is. Everything is so magical and that feeling is going to bring me back to this journal, sit down with myself and have a moment to check in. I’m working on better health and busy life can lead me astray, but I’m looking forward to opening this book everyday. It only takes a few minutes right? Few minutes to enjoy the book while keeping motivated
Very happy with the product. I had completely forgotten about it and got surprised by it coming in the mail. The art is great and it’s very calming and lots of fun colouring the pages everyday. I’m still adjusting to it. I was using a self-made bullet journal planner before, which worked semi-good. Now I’m looking forward to opening this journal everyday and seeing which page I can Color today :)
Accept the call! No matter what your Quest may be—big or small—don’t delay it! Do yourself a favor and accept the call to adventure. If you are familiar with flexible goal setting, this thing will be your best friend. I’m not an every day kind of planner person, and this also works to do a page or two every week or as needed, like I do. So flexible and so worth it. Start your Quest! Amazing quality, amazing spread layout—a quality piece.
Fantastic, as are all of the journals from The Hero's Journal. But the artwork on the box of this one is my favorite, as is the theme of The Way of Istoria.
This has been so fun to do with my friend from work. We start our days journaling and coloring and it genuinely has improved our mood so much!
I LOVE My Hero's journal!! As an adhd-er from waaay back in the day, typical planners never stood a chance despite my best intentions. They'd always end up crumpled in the bottom of my back back, accidentally maimed beyond repair or completely forgotten about within a week. The Hero's journal is different- i WANT to use it. I love framing my goals within a hero's quest structure. The page layouts RULE! I feel too overwhelmed by a blank page- and these are filled with cute , nerdtastic illustrations, places for gratitudes, hurdles to overcome, and of course your goals. It's so satisfying to list out all of the day's side quests and check them off one by one. It's motivating and has kept me on track. One of my big goals was to get back to practicing my banjo - and I have EVERY SINGLE DAY since my journal arrived. It gets me off my butt and keeps me on track with work, cleaning my apt, banjo, and other creative outlets like coding and 3-d printing. I used to use a white board for my tasks- but this is so much more fun, and it keeps track of all of my daily wins so I can look back if I'm feeling down on myself and reflect on my accomplishments. As a teacher of neurodiverse students, I bring it into the classroom during talks of executive functioning/goal setting and many kids have shown interest in trying out something similar themselves. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!
I absolutely love this journal! I got the Valentine's bundle and it's such a great idea- My boyfriend loves his journal as well! The design is so fun, the quality is great, and the company is very involved in getting you started and guiding you on the beginning of your journey.
These side quest journals are super awesome and much nicer than I thought they would be! They are the same size as the journal which is nice, but also not what I was expecting!
I'm excited to get started on this journey. The fourth storyline from Hero's Journal. :) I find that the layout helps me to organize my thoughts and the undated format means that if I miss a day or two, my progress won't be messed up.
As a massive fan of Dragonball Z and Avatar, this storyline was one I had to be a part of. I love the color of the cover and artwork is amazing. I haven't quite figured out which quest will fill up these pages, but looking forward to seeing how the story unfolds. So far I have completed 2 other storylines, GOI being my favorite, but this one might top it.
I got the jade edition. The inside leaves are gold foiled too! There’s also a new section, habits, that is personalizable, which I like. The colors and designs are really cool for this new journal. This is my third hero’s journal- I’ve almost experienced them all- and I am really excited for the theme of this one. Hoping the creative team keeps it going!
I got one journal months ago and fell completely in love with it. I ordered the year set for both myself and to give away two of the books to loveones for them to try. I really REALLY recommend these journals to anyone who WANT to write and keep a record of their days but have trouble keeping with it. These journals make you WANT to write in them! To look forward to writing down how your day goes and see where and what your little yew is up to that day. Plus they bonus as a awesome coloring book! I plan to keep with these products for they really are a game changer in writing. Raine
I have been a huge fan of The Hero's Journal ever since I first discovered them at Awesome Con a few years ago. I have countless journals as well as many of their other products. The Way of Istoria is the best yet, IMHO, but they are all great and made me rediscover my love for journaling.
It makes it so much easier to journal daily. And I don’t feel bad if I miss a day or two. And coloring in the pages is so much fun
The journal is a good quality with nice paper, as well asa great layout with wonderful illustrations. I love that I could take my time, coloring the illustrations if I desire and that I’m not looking at a full blank page. The journal is designed to be user-friendly and I believe a great place to start for anyone who is new to journaling or just needing a change. This allows you to enjoy the journey for that is what makes life exciting.
I really love this journal, it's super cute and I think the contents on the pages are well thought out! If I could make one suggestion, though, if these journals are meant to appeal to ADHDers then it would really, really help to have a spiral journal option. I know it would look less aesthetically pleasing, but the ability to leave it open on the current page works wonders for the "out of sight, out of mind" issue that ADHDers like myself deal with.

I am looking to rediscover my creativity as a 40 something adult that struggles with journaling and accountability. After just a few days I find myself waking up wanting to go to the journal, one of the most surprising aspects to me is realizing I love coloring! Highly recommend!

Okay, negatives first: PLEASE remove the Harry Potter quotes! JK Rowling is a horrible transphobe and nothing she writes is "inspirational". I also wish there were some structured planning pages at the start of each chapter; having a quest is great but I need a Treasure Map :-) But overall I love it! Good structure, with the gratitude/allies/threats per day and open space for lists or sketches. The artwork is fun, and most of the quotes are well chosen.
