I am so excited to have my side quest deck! I was so happy that the first card I blindly pulled was to “make something with your hands”! Gave me all the motivation I needed to crochet a project I had been procrastinating! Perfect for the fantasy loving nerds we all secretly are!
Jieshrae
Got these for my mom and son. They both loved their side quests! I will definitely be getting one for myself next.

This is such a great idea. Beautiful work and a way to change your life for the better

The side quest deck has been very helpful to me on days my executive function is not functioning well, i have ADHD and this product has changed my “lazy” day routine and removed the shame of only doing small things it made me realize that I don’t have to do anything large or super productive. I can do a small or several small things and feel validated for the day knowing I did something.
Courtney
It's really fun. My partner and I have pulled a card a day since we got it and we are really having fun with it. Best of all it's been helping with my burnout a bit. Super happy with these.
Michael
It’s really neat and all, but its sorta overpriced for what it is.
Corinne B.
Love them! Can't wait to try them out again
Robert
A fun way to sort out a lazy day
Rebekka
Cute idea, came quickly and looks great
Patricia
Fun and gentle "prod" to get off my butt.
Jeremiah
Deck is very good quality, cars are fun and keep me very productive

This seemed like a nice way to give myself things to do during the day. The cards feel like good quality stock, and I appreciate that it seems (I don't know myself for sure) that each side quest deck has different tasks based on the theme of the journal, which if so is great; they didn't have to do that but it's wonderful that they care enough about their products to really make them unique!

I find journals kinda scary. Nothing gets to me then looking at a blank piece of paper and trying to figure out where to start. I love that I have space to write a summary of my day and places for me to write what I have to do for the day since I’m a little forgetful. My planner tends to be something that I just use for school and only open for my assignments. I saw this on a YouTube channel while looking for information about a mental illness I was diagnosed with and thought that it was the perfect fit for me.
Customer service was lovely when I emailed them about my order. And bonus got to show it off to my therapist and he loved it because it was able to give him a snap shot of my days.

I like the journals and cards to remind me that I am the hero of my life journey, and the addition of maps, art, and quests to the adventure helps reframe the way I approach the day. The journal gives room for gratitude, lists, and focus areas, and the cards mix it up with unexpected quests that are known to bring purpose, creativity, and connection back into the everyday. My family and I decided to use the cards together to mix up the week. I am grateful to have them as allies on my journey.

Gave as a gift, recipient loved them

I've been using the Heroes journal for many years, since before I got divorced from my abusive ex-husband and I was looking for a new, stable place to live for my family and I. I used to use regular journals and forgot about them so fast because life was busy and I just didn't make time. But once I got my first heroes journal it was so fun that instead of yet another daunting task it became something I looked forward to. My first journal I used with the goal of getting out of abuse and into a safe place to live. I was given access to their Facebook page which has the most supportive and caring group of people I have ever met, and even the creators are active on that page. Once I was out of my situation, I made a post asking for help with figuring out what to do with the journal now that my big goal was met, and got plenty of suggestions as well as a brand new journal from a super kind woman in the group. I cried because of all the kind words and support I received in that group. And then, with the help of my second journal I made goals and plans and worked hard until I (a single mother of two) was able to get a condo for my kids and I to live a happy, stable life in. I made a second post with that, and even the creators of the journal celebrated my success and in the group with everyone else and thanked me for sharing my experience because it made them feel good to know their product was able to help people succeed.
One of the few things I struggled with with the journals, was the side quests. I didn't know what side quests to do every day and so often that was something I skipped or just wrote random odd quests down for in the journal. I bought the triple pack of the side quests recently, because even a year and three months after getting my condo I still use the journals for smaller goals and the side quest decks are amazing inspiration to help me fill in the section. I shuffle them, pull up to 6 random cards, pick my favorite three to put down in my journal and then go about my day and it helps me chunk away at overwhelming tasks and break them into smaller chunks that are easier to accomplish. The journals and decks are absolutely worth every penny, I recommend them to everyone I know often and will absolutely buy even more in the future as I fill my journals and move on with my life. I'm grateful to the creators of these journals and can't wait to see what other amazing products they come up with in the future.

I love these cards. I try to use the deck once a day, and I got a stand where I can set them on my bookshelf with the card of the day being displayed for if I get bored. I love the style and theme of the cards being side quests and overall the activities are productive and still not anything too crazy. I tend to spend my free time laying in bed because I feel bored or tired due to my mental health but these cards genuinely make me feel better when I do something either in the self care realm or the productive realm.
Anthony
These are great to help start a path forward to making a healthier mentally clear life
Anna M.
These are just okay. They are the size of a normal playing deck and it costs $10 to ship it to you in an envelope, which is outrageous because I could mail it for less than $5. I’m sure I’ll get some use out of them, but I feel like it would be better to take some time to come up with your own activities, write them on large popsicle sticks and draw them from a cup. That way it’s all stuff you’d like to do, it also cuts down on decision fatigue, and you save your self $40 which is about what I paid after shipping.
Amber R.
Deck is wonderful. I love the variety along with the artwork. I’m big into fantasy so this was right up my ally to motivate me more to do the activities.
Brandy M.
I bought the sidequest deck after seeing it many times on social media. I love it! It's the perfect thing for when I just don't know what I want to do.
Melissa W.
I have combined all three SideQuest decks to broaden my choice of quests. Today's Legends of Istoria quest said go to the farmers market, so that's what I did after work. Thanks for making all three decks available to heroes who need them!
Aria
My sister loved it!

The cards are well made. I love using them so far and can't wait to do more daily side quests for when I need that extra motivation.

The side quest deck really helps to add a little fun into our everyday lives. Even my kids like to pick cards! And the best part is you can reuse the deck over and over again!
Siena C.
I love the Hero's Journal in general but this side quest deck is so great! Perfect for my ADHD brain!
Sarah H.
I always know I should do more self-care, but I get overwhelmed trying to decide what to pick. This deck is the perfect solution to just pick a thing to do for me!
Kaylee F.
I love these cards! They’re thick and beautiful quality, aesthetically pleasing as well. I love the variety of daily prompts. There are household chores, creative ideas, and it gives you reasons to get out of the house. Very pleased with them!
Meagan
Very helpful to get me to DO things
Stephanie M.
I originally bought it because I am an emotional depressed person and need help getting out of bed everyday. So far (I've only had it for 3 days) I 've mixed all three card decks and done one card a day.
Ashley
SO CUTE and great quality cards
Gabrielle W.
I've been following the heroes journal on TikTok for a little while, and I recently bought the digital journal for the Academy. I absolutely love it so far and so I wanted to get the cards that matched.
Ariel W.
I love that these cards give me something to do each day to give me a sense of accomplishment. The cards are so fun and even have a quote on each one. I really feel as if I am on my own fantasy adventure!
Noelle N.
I have mental illness and regularly feel the need to do “something” but I can’t figure out what “something” is… now I let the cards decide. The graphics are very cute and the live in a cup on my desk for anyone who wants a side quest
Jeremiah B.
The side quests give me a little something to do in addition to the three main daily tasks.
I drew three, put them on my journal and when I complete 1 I will replace it with another.
Donna B.
I have used many different planners and I just wanted something fun. I am A woman in her 50’s that just needed something new and exciting to add to everyday planning. This seemed fun. I also bought the side deck. I just received it but I think I will enjoy using it.
Rita D.
I can't wait to use the cards along side my journals.
Darci L.
I'm really enjoying the sidequest deck. The cards are great quality and the quests are fairly simple to do.
Melanie D.
These cards are so cute! They are good for keeping active and trying a lot of new things.
Lauren D.
I have a hard time getting started with anything and large unstructured blocks of time generally lead to doing very little. These cards help me get moving and stay moving! Love them!
Robin E.
Full disclosure, I haven't used them yet. Prompt delivery! I've looked through them thoroughly though. I'm very pleased with the quality, how cute they are! They're convenient to placing on my shelf. I'm making so many changes in my life after some drastic life changes and pandemic and I'm involved with a few active projects. This was proactive self-care mental and physical. There will be moments where it's just me and the dogs and no distractions and I'll need a journal prompt or something to inspire me and this is exactly what I was looking for! A bit of whimsy is added plus!! Thank you! If I didn't already have a prompt journal I'd get their journal. I need more whimsy/adventure in my life :)
Melisa A.
I love using the deck as a quick surprise for myself and feel accomplished no matter how small the task.
KC C.
Love it so far. It’s like giving myself a present, but it still gets to be a surprise!
Weldon C.
These are a cool edition to my journal. Trying and doing different things spices up my day. I will be getting the other side quest decks as well!
Amber B.
1) What were you using to plan and track your goals prior to The Hero's Journal?
A combination of iPhone lists, whiteboards, and reusable notepads (RocketBook)
2) What made you willing to try us out?
I was really looking for something digital for convenience and reducing paper. The first 71 days free was a great way for me to test out the pages with my organization structure and I ended up buying the digital journal value pack. I also like that if I need/want, I could print out specific pages to store in a binder/file cabinet/etc. as a record
3) Have you enjoyed your experience with us?
Yes! In addition to the content, I really enjoy coloring in the pictures!
Erin B.
Its great ideas for my kids when they have screen free time and the i don’t know what to do
Daphne B.
I’m planning to use the Sidequest Deck to add excitement to my family’s day.
We have decided that whoever finishes the card first gets to pull the next one from the deck.
Kaitlyn K.
I love these cards! I bought them as a way to help my husband and I have a more tangible and mindful way of going about self care and productivity tasks. The cards themselves are a high quality cardstock and feel great shuffling. We decided to make a game using the cards. We assigned the cards point levels (1-4) based on comfort/difficulty levels. Each day we pull a card and complete the task. Some days we work together to complete it, other times it becomes a friendly competition. We are still working out what we will redeem our points for, but so far it has been a fun bonding experience and we focusing more on self care and fun, rather than things we need to get done in a day. I highly recommend!
Rachael C.
The side quests are great little suggestions to get you moving and some of them will give you a little push out of your comfort zone
Jessica E.
I purchased these cards after I happened to get into an accident and found myself depressed and shutting the world out. I wanted them to help me reconnect with the world and help give me a little task to get me by. These cards are so beautiful drawn and well crafted; I with every card/task completed, I feel myself becoming me again. Thank you for the motivation
Sean H.
These are great, I do them each day with some friends. Very helpful in figuring out what to do for the day!
Rose
I do one card a day and it helps break the routine I was stuck in. I’m buying the other pack once it is in stock.
Katie F.
The sidequests here are just the thing to keep me going. From something as simple as "learn how to make something with origami" or "warm a blanket up in the dryer and get cozy", these "quests" bring a smile to my face each day. Every day brings a new sidequest to help my mood, from learning a new skill or pampering myself.
Autumn K.
I absolutely love these cards. I’ve used them to inspire out of routine daily quests. With these bringing a perfect moment into each day inspired me to order my journal!
Boedy K.
These cards are great! I wrote a more in depth review on the other deck so I'll just sum up the main point here:
- Cards have great feel and look with wonderful quotes
- Arrived fairly quickly with no issues and packaged nice and neatly
- Helps me and my friends to try new things and to stay creative/positive
- **Warning** to anyone who buys: Box is a little tricky to open due to how inner tabs are shaped but once I opened it I trimmed the tabs (about a millimeter or less) and opens just fine now
- Highly recommend both decks
Emily L.
I purchased the heroes journal side quest deck... The cards are super thick and difficult to shuffle. Wasn't impressed.
Lisa V.
Quarantine kinda sapped my desire to do things, so now that it's over, I thought these Side quests cards would motivate me to get up and get moving. Sometimes, having a long to-do list can seem too overwhelming to begin, but these cards give me a chance to focus on tasks one at a time. They also challenge me to stop procrastinating and dive in. Good luck, fellow heroes!
David S.
My goal was "establish a living income generating business" as a freelance web designer. I am a few weeks away from completion and my revenue is on track to meet that goal!! Granted a "living income" is basically just enough to survive but that's why the goal is attainable and not something wild like "earn a million dollars in three months starting from scratch". I'm now in a basic position to keep grown and set a higher goal for my next journal. The side quest decks are really helping me when I can't think of anything fun to do (that happens when I'm so focused on goals I forget to have a life).
Ranelle S.
The cards are of good quality and are a good wat to help motivate me when im feeling unmotivated.
The box is pretty hard to open, but that doesn't affect the product.
TASHA M.
I purchased both decks and today was our first card pull. My nephew and I both pulled a card from each deck and as you can see, it’s time to tidy up around the house. He’s working on his area and I’m working on my office space. He’s not grumbling about it either…it’s more of a challenge now. This is going to fun!

Thank you so much for these. I will enjoy using them.

I love the artwork and quotes on the cards and that they match the size of the LOI deck so they can be combined. I also enjoy how there are specific sets that match chapters in the journal. However, the box for the IMA deck is very difficult to open. Also, some of the quests in the IMA deck are so specific that they do not apply to me; while I can interpret them differently, I think they would have been better if they weren't so specific. The thickness and material of both decks also make them difficult to shuffle.
Lauren B.
This is a creative deck to guide the weary life traveler out of the stagnation of routine monotony.
Cory C.
Great side product for the hero’s journal. I like the concept of having an additional well of quests to choose from. The best benefit is drawing a card to shake up your day. While doing side quests I find that I often think of other things I should be doing to achieve my goals. One of my daily frogs is to attend the gym, so on off days I draw a card to replace that frog. I find it helpful and exciting each time!
Elijah L.
I enjoyed the first few pages of setting up my North Star and journey so much. I’ve had a creative block for awhile now and this journal as really started to break me out of that rut. I find myself using it for coloring way more than I thought I would. The storytelling aspect is also keeping me intrigued to keep going and make progress. I haven’t used the cards but once so far because work has been so busy, but they are beautifully designed. 10/10 - will buy it all again!
Carmen C.
Good quality very motivating, would recommend
